School closed for CVID-19 Virus
Dear Miller Families,
On March 16th, 2020, the Lawrence County Health Department issued new guidance in regards to the Coronavirus outbreak. It is their recommendation that we cancel school and suspend all school related activities through Friday, April 3rd. The Miller R-2 School District will comply with the health department's recommendation and cancel school and suspend all school related functions, effective immediately, through Friday, April 3rd. This will include all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and practices. At this time there are no reports of the infectious disease in Lawrence County.
We understand that each family will have unique hardships caused by this school closure. There is no higher priority for the Miller R-2 School District than the safety of our students, staff, and community. At this time, we expect to return to school on Monday, April 6th, which is a snow make-up day.
Currently, we anticipate making enrichment activities available during the time students will be out of school. Additionally, we are working on how to offer meals to those in need for curbside pickup. Details on both enrichment activities and meals will be provided by the building administrators when they become available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these uncertain times.
