In an effort to inform the surrounding community, prospective home buyers, realtors, prospective teachers and employees and our own community about our district success, a promotional brochure was created. The brochure was created as part of the work of our Professional Learning Community Promotions Team at the high school and junior high in May 2009. Ms. Winans - school business teacher, lended her expertise to the creation of the brochure. This team of teachers (Mr. Whittaker, Mr. Shepherd, Mr. Fox, Ms. Winans and Mr. Stokes) was also involved in creating a program on May 19 called "Meet the Cardinals" for students and parents at nearby Avilla. The students at Avilla can come to Miller after grade 8, They may choose a surrounding high school to attend. It was the over-arching goal of the team to promote and reach out to families in the area and let them know the Miller R-2 School District is an exceptional small school and a great place to raise a family.
