Talking Track with Coach Bennett

Q: The first track meet recently took place. What was the outcome?
A: It went very well. The girls got second out of 14 very large schools. We had five 1st place finishes, and one 2nd place finish, plus many 4th place finishes. Dustin Cates had an outstanding race in the 100 meter dash. He is proving to be one of the best around.
Q: Do you think there will be any difference in moving to Class
2?
A: Yes, big difference. We are a small Class 2 school, and we will
be going against the larger Class 2 schools. The competition is
better than the Class 1 athletes.
Q: Does the team have any goals set?
A: We want to win districts, and also get as many athletes
qualified for state as possible.
Q: The number of individuals out, has it gone up since the previous
year?
A: Yes, we have 17 boys and 14 girls compared to the 6 girls we had
last year.
