HS Course Descriptions and Scheduling for 2010-11

It is suggested that you and you child review the course offerings and descriptions prior to registration for classes in August 2010. The high school will have a new counselor and principal. Mr. Kern Sorrell will serve as principal and Mrs. Julie West will serve as the new counselor. Both will be working on 2010-11 schedule for the coming school year and will communicate the dates for students to come to school to provide their schedule requests for the 2010-11 school year. As with any school year, the faculty and staff will attempt to meet all scheduling needs. However, there are specific state and local requirements for A+ scholarship eligibility, college preparation, and Southwest Area Career Center enrollment. In addition, credit requirements in core subject areas should take precedence over other elective scheduling options to ensure timely graduation. It will always be the goal of the staff and faculty at Miller High School to provide the proper guidance and mix of classes to assist students in making progress toward graduation on time.
