The AdvancED evaluation team conducted a review of the Miller R-II School District October 18-21, 2009. The review team conducted interviews with 148 parents, community members, students, district teachers and staff, administrators and school board members to critically judge our district. Along with the interviews they also observed classrooms and reviewed district documents and evidence of quality education.
The five member team presented an exit report of their findings with administrators and board members on Wednesday, October 21st. The AdvancED review team was very complimentary of the district's achievements and the level of service provided to the community. In addition the team cited the following areas as strengths in the district: Leadership, Community Involvement and School Pride, Allocation of Resources, the Wide Variety of Programs offered that lead to student success, and the addition of a school resource officer enhancing the safety and security in the school system. In their final report they have recommended that the Miller R-II School District be accredited by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. The "official" accreditation will be awarded in approximately thirty days when the district receives the Commission's written report, but the team gave their full endorsement of the district and expect the district will be fully certified.
THANKS TO ALL THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS, TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND STAFF THAT PARTICIPATED in the process of earning this accreditation. We are a great school system, committed to continuous improvement and serving our community. Always let us know how we can improve, our district employees serve this community.
Congratulations Miller R-II School District!!
