Teacher Receives Inclusiveness Award

An art teacher at Miller High School is among a group of five teachers receiving $1,000 awards from the VSA Arts and CVS Caremark for making their classrooms inclusive for students with and without disabilities.
Jennifer Leeper was chosen in a selection process that involved students submitting artwork to an online gallery during a call for art to the "All Kids Can...CREATE!" contest, according to a news release.
The teacher awards were based on the number of students with disabilities who participated, and a personal statement about how they practice inclusiveness in the classroom.
