Hammons Field Interview: Tyler Abma

Katrina Logan

April 22, 2009

Q: Was playing on Hammons Field more intimidating than playing on a normal high school field?

A: Not really. It is still just a baseball field, the stadium wasn’t packed or anything, and crowd wasn’t any louder, the field was just a lot nicer.

Q: Do you think the larger field affected your loss?

A: I think that we just weren’t playing our best at the time. I don’t think it had anything to do with the field.

Q: Was it nerve racking playing in front of the Springfield Cardinals baseball team?

A: No, because I didn’t know they were there while I was playing. I normally don’t ever pay attention to the crowd; I’m focused on the game.

Q: Did not going through your normal routine before the game affect your game any?

A: Yes, because we just weren’t mentally or physically ready for the game. We were distracted by all of the other things that were going on.
