Miller jumped ahead of the Lady Pirates 16-10 after the first quarter but faded quickly as Ash Grove featured hot shooting and a balanced scoring attack. Miller rarely attacked the basket on the offensive end, casting up 23 three pointers in the game while connecting on just 4 from long range. Miller did close to within 6 points in the fourth quarter, but Ash Grove quickly responded and the Lady Cards never seriously threatened in the last 3:00 minutes of the game.
Ash Grove had six players who scored at least 8 points with two more who scored 6 each. Most of the scoring load for Miller was carried by Hannah Wilkerson who scored 36 points in the game. No Miller player was able to add more than 4 points to the cause.
Ash Grove made 26 of 55 shots in the game. Ash Grove's 63 points was the highest total against the Lady Cards since Fair Grove scored 83 back on December 3.
Miller open conference action Thursday, January 10 at home against Diamond. Game time is 6:00 pm.
